Still some things that aren’t working (camera, GPS and bluetooth) but I can live with that . At least I got rid of WM 6.5!

Android market, sms, calls and all apps works as good as on a regular andriod phone, thats nice!

This is one of my latest mini-projects, which is kind of cool for testing filters and speakers.

It’s a PIC16F887 MCU running at 8 MHz. The lowpass-filter is a simple RC-circuit with a time-constant of 68 ms. The frequency is altered by a 10 kohm potentiometer.

With Telia’s release of the world’s first commercial LTE network in Sweden we finally can experience high-speed data transfers through the air. Although this network only had a 42.8 mbit/s downlink and 5.3 mbit/s uplink, it is a big step into the future. The next step is LTE Advanced, which should meet the requirements of 100 mbit/s downlink and 50 mbit/s uplink.

Palm Pre
The most exciting about the phone isn’t that it is a iPhone-killer or not. It is available for the user to buy an accessory which allows wireless charging of the phone. Even if it you can’t have any large distances between the phone and the charger, it is a interesting technique. More wireless please!

Windows 7
Microsoft’s highly anticipated OS was finally released during 2009, which pleased many fans of Windows. A step in the right direction and hopefully Microsoft continues on this path. The new features included among others; Faster and increased performance, extended battery for laptops (less CPU-draining), new user interface, etc.

Comeback of 3D
2009 has remarked itself by many things, not to mention all the 3D products that surfaced during the year. For example, many movies at the cinemas have had 3D as an option. Manufacturers like Samsung have implemented 3D in their monitors to reach superior game experience. Soon we will also see 3D-monitors that don’t require 3D-glasses. Think of the possibilities with 3D in a monitor, for example CAD?

FOLED/OLED/AMOLED
Not really new for 2009, but these techniques are gaining attention, both from manufacturers and consumers. Interesting to see what applications you can use them in, would be cool with flexible watches!

Things to keep in mind for 2010:

USB 3.0
With increasing size of files and increasing data-storage on harddrives, USB-memories, etc. it is also natural that the interfaces increase in bandwidth.

4G phones
With 4G/LTE networks come 4G phones…

Hydrogen-powered cellphones
An alternative way to keep your phone alive. Combine this with solar cells and you get a totally green phone?
